Other Information:

The Flower Mound USPS office has asked that the Board make our homeowners aware of a problem for the USPS. In residential areas, especially those with cul-de-sacs, mail delivery can be a challenge. Postal workers are not allowed to back their vehicles for mail delivery and, if mailbox access is blocked, they are not required to deliver mail to that address. The vehicle blocking your mailbox may not be yours - talk with your neighbors. As a general guideline, the USPS stated that they prefer a 10' clear distance from each mailbox. On a cul-de-sac, this may mean no parking in the street to ensure daily mail delivery to all homeowners.

The FMFD Fire Prevention Division has started a new program to help inform homeowners:
  • Test all your smoke alarms monthly and replace the batteries every six months.
  • Make sure everyone in your household knows two escape routes from the bedrooms.
  • Keep a flashlight by the bed.
  • ESCAPE FIRST, then notify the Fire Department.
  • Designate a meeting place outside and take attendance.
  • When working outside, use extension cords must specifically for outdoor use.
  • Replace or repair all worn or damaged electrical cords and plugs.
  • NEVER alter plugs to make them fit sockets!
  • While refueling your vehicle, do NOT reenter the vehicle during fueling. Static electricity may build up and can cause fires. Although extremely unusual, these incidents have caused injuries and property damage.

A Reminder for the School Year
The Flower Mound Police Department would like to remind drivers that school is ongoing. Motorists are encouraged to follow all school related traffic signs, specifically regarding posted speed limits for school zones and crosswalks. Officers are also alerting residents to look out for children walking or bicycling on sidewalks and near roadways.
